These are the terms for using theyardlab.com, operated by The Yard Lab Publishing Group, LLC ("The Yard Lab," "we," "us"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
You're welcome to browse, read, and share links to anything here. Please don't misuse the site: no attempts to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to it, no scraping it in bulk, and no using it for anything unlawful.
The text, design, cover art, and excerpts on this site belong to The Yard Lab or to the authors and artists who created them, and are protected by copyright. Book excerpts are shared with permission so you can sample the work. You may quote short passages for review, criticism, or discussion with credit to the author and a link back, but you may not republish excerpts or other content in full without written permission.
When you submit work to The Lab. or query us about a manuscript, you keep all rights to your work. Submitting does not grant us any rights to use or publish it, and it does not create an agreement between us. We publish work only under a separate written contract signed by both sides.
By submitting, you confirm that the work is your own original writing and that you have the right to submit it. Reading periods, guidelines, and response times are posted on the site and may change. We read every submission, but we can't guarantee acceptance or a particular response time.
We also receive many ideas and pitches. Similar ideas may already be in development with us or with our authors, and receiving yours doesn't limit what we publish.
We don't sell books directly on this site. Order links take you to third-party retailers such as Amazon, Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo, and Audible, and your purchase is governed by that retailer's terms. Some links, including our Bookshop.org links, are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
We link to retailers, authors' sites, and other resources we think you'll find useful. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided "as is." Details such as publication dates, formats, and reading periods can change, and we don't promise the site will always be error-free or online.
